Tamarindo, Costa Rica
Today, November 10th, marks day uno, officially! We flew into Liberia Airport from Atlanta. Costa Rica, according to our shuttle driver, has been under a nine day seige of heavy, heavy rain. We flew into cloudy skies, but intermittent rain and blue skies. Again, our shuttle driver said that today was much better than yesterday. Looking ahead at the forecast, the rain seems to be lightening up which we hope clears the ocean from its current murkiness. I am excited to learn to surf this week!
Our Air BnB is a lovely one bedroom apartment with a basic kitchen that we will use to its’ limits to save some $$. First observations of Tamarindo show a very touristy town, with visitors from all over the world. Restaurant and drink prices are comparable to a moderate restaurant back in Colorado or Montana! Our host lives in Tamarindo, and he moved here from Buenos Aires about ten years ago. He owns a surf shop in town, which he will rent us surf boards for a good deal.
