Greetings! We would like to share some photos from our “O” Circuit Trek in Parque Nacional Torres del Paine. So, no long stories to share in this post, just some of our favorite moments because it really was speechless. The photos are grouped by day and below you can find a map of the park to cross reference where we were each leg of the route. Disfruten! Enjoy!

Day 0: Arrival to TDP and Paine Grande (1.4 miles)

Weighed down with our food and gear for the next nine days, we took a bus to the park entrance and then a catamaran across Lago Pehoe to Paine Grande Lodge and Camping!

Day 1: Paine Grande – Brittanico Mirador – Cuernos (16.5 miles)

With our bags at their heaviest, we tackled the longest day right away; this was the one time we treated ourselves to a beer at the full-service bar.

Day 2: Cuernos – Central (7.9 miles)

Next time, we might be riding those horses!

Day 3: Base Torres from Central (12.8 miles)

Our attempt at a sunrise hike…we woke up at 2 AM and were greeted with clouds and rain, but at least we avoided most of the day hikers.

Day 4: Central – Seron (8.6 miles)

On to the backside…this is the first campsite of the “O” Circuit. Poco gente, muy tranquilo. Few people, very calm.

Day 5: Seron – Dickson (11.4 miles)

No words really. This was a special day.

Day 6: Dickson – Los Perros (7.9 miles)

Short, pleasant hike to the most “remote” camp of the trek.

Day 7: Los Perros – Grey (9.7 miles)

The crux of the trek: John Garner Pass. After battling the elements, we were pleasantly surprised to see Grey Glacier, which was unlike anything we could imagine.

Day 8: Grey – Paine Grande (8.2 miles)

Why are glaciers blue??

Total = 84.2 miles

    . . hiking 16+ miles in one day with a heavy backpack . .
    Where is your sherpa?
Day 8 . . Rainbow. You have tasted from the pot of gold.
Campground? Does the facility rent sationary tents to campers? It looks like those yellow ones probably belong to the area.
Those big ice cubes you are holding will not fit in your glass of Pepsi.

Yes, each camping area along the O trek had pre-set tents for trekkers as well as refugios people could choose to stay in! The cheapest way to do it was bringing your own gear, but those sites book out really far in advance, which is why we booked it back in July!

Endurance! Hardship and some would say insanity! That is until you see the amazing shots of the mountain landscape! That many miles with full packs. I don’t believe they get lighter just because you ate some dried food.
